I am doing my best to follow Jesus and dive deep into the depths of my spiritual journey whilst also living life in my small community with great joy! My mission here is to create a space to share reflections, walk and learn with others on the spiritual journey, and spread the good news!
I’m a cradle Catholic and a charismatic 🔥! I praise God for the blessings He has provided, and the strength for every trial I have endured. He is my dive master on this journey to the deep!
Interior Life
I’m a wife to my best friend, who is also my high school sweetheart 💖. Marriage has brought me more joy than I thought possible, but is also without its crosses. These ups and downs, and my response to them, have ultimately helped me dive deeper into the spiritual journey.
I am a mother to 3 children 🎪 through the blessing and miracle of adoption. Like marriage, Adoption has changed my life! How awe-inspiring is it that we have a God who chooses to invite ALL OF US into His family and provide us with a FULL INHERITANCE! Adoption has also allowed me to transcend “blood family” ties and literally adopt a larger idea of my “spiritual” family.
I work as a Salesforce (software) consultant and love it! My work allows me to use God’s talents to bring value for my colleagues and clients, fulfill my professional desires and help me provide for my family. I am blessed 🙏🏾 to have an amazing management team who has worked with me to ensure that my family is prioritized and that work-life balance is a reality.
Politics
I’m politically homeless. I support working for the dignity of all human life and responsible stewardship of the environment.
I live in the United States, where no dominant political party supports all the tenants of Catholic Social Teaching. I refuse partisan politics and the notion that working for the dignity of life is a zero-sum game. We do not have to choose some lives over others!
Political discourse requires love, dialogue, peace, and FaithfulCitizenship!
I believe that the spiritual journey will help my heart and my eyes be opened to the face of God in each and every human life — including those who disagree, oppose or are hostile toward me.
My Favorite Holidays
My favorite holiday is Good Friday ✝️. Jesus’ death on the cross perfectly fulfilled the covenant and opened up heaven to mankind. Where O Death, is your sting now!
My second favorite holiday is Pentecost. What an unimaginable gift, that God could give of Himself physically to us and then turn around and give us His Spirit 🔥, uniquely fine-tuned to reside within our physical bodies, turning us into a temple and operating as mission control for us to do His mission.
Other Stuff
I am a big follower of the Kon Mari methods of surrounding myself with things/people/ideas that bring joy and discarding the chaff. I am a fan of St. Ignatius’ teachings around detachment. I couple these two philosophies in other to simplify my life, which allows me to focus my time an energy on seeking first the kingdom of God.
I love to write! And tell jokes! And share funny stories, especially those that come from being a parent! I’ve always kept a prayer journal, and writing and re-reading my thoughts help me dive deeper and also see how God has answered the prayers of my past.
So despite now not being the best time to start a blog, I know that the potential fruits are there for the picking, for me and those around me!
I’m somewhat studied on scripture and catechetical teaching, but my hope and my prayer is that God gives me a heart like His, and love that burns for Him and His justice! I don’t have almost any answers but I won’t let that stop me from continuing on the journey and sharing the good news! I invite you to walk with me and network with me if you too are on the journey. I look forward to learning more about how I can practice and experience my faith more practically and deeply with you!
