Mission
Why are you writing this blog?
My mission here is to create a space to share reflections, walk and learn with others on the spiritual journey, and spread the good news! Learn more about me on the About Me page.
When I am able to sit in silence and listen to God, I am often surprised at the volumes that I hear back! I have written my reflections down for more than a decade now. I love to see what I was thinking, what problems I thought were big, and how prayers were answered. However…
- My handwriting’s really hard to read.
- I can’t easily share anything with others if I want to (in addition to #1, several people I’d like to share with are not on social media).
- Speaking of social media, I’d rather maintain my own platform than trust in their best interested (more on that here).
A simple website solves all of these problems.
It also allows me to create a space where I can make new friends along the journey who I may not know personally at all but who can nonetheless be vital players in my path. I intentionally do keep statements about my family here board so their privacy is protected (my Facebook page is for full on sharing).
What is the spiritual journey?
The spiritual journey is our quest to seek out the purpose of our earthly life.
Everyone’s journey is different, but I believe that ultimately the path can lead us all to the same place, which is peace, truth, and Love.
Is this page just for Catholics?
No! The content will reflect my spiritual journey, which is distinctly Catholic. However you’ll find flavors from any number of other influences.
I believe that God IS LOVE. Anyone who centers his/her life around love and its corollaries — charity, peace, joy, mercy — is a fellow pilgrim on this journey from whom I can learn!
I believe that the Christian God (who is also the God of other religions) is the One, True, God. I believe that if you embark on the spiritual journey — even from a secular perspective — that if you dive deep enough you will find the same God waiting with open arms!
